Federally funded highway system functional classification realignment files, 1936-1976.

Files include studies, maps and related materials concerning the realignment of federally financed primary, secondary and urban highway systems in accordance with functional classifications put forth by federal authorities. Maps show functional classifications of streets, road and highways (e.g., intersates, freeways, major highways, minor aterials, municipal streets, county highways), road surface types, regional boundaries, urban limits, navigation and drainage structures, military reservations, preservation areas, airports and special features (e.g., schools, fire stations).
